Coming Soon: Findings on Rural and Small Town Churches from the 2025 National Survey of Churches of Christ

Using data from the 2025 National Survey of Churches of Christ, we explore trends in leadership, attendance (including virtual attendance), worship styles, and types of ministries and activities offered in the congregation. We also explore how rural and small town congregations vary from their urban and suburban counterparts. 

This work will be done in partnership with the Church Research Council by using the database and initial data they collect in the fall of 2024 and spring of 2025 as a snapshot of congregations. The questionnaire developed by the Church Research Council asks questions about the numbers of paid and unpaid ministers and staff members at each congregation, along with information on the age and tenure of their primary minister.
